Welcome to Darwin Cottage

Darwin Cottage is located in the peaceful village of Jevington in a conservation area on the South Downs just outside of Eastbourne.

Tanya and Paul Frisby would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Darwin Cottage.  Their main residence, Newton House was a barn which was converted approximately 20 years ago.  This year, they have overseen the conversion of their flint outbuilding into a cosy two bed roomed luxury country cottage. 

Darwin Cottage has 2 bedrooms, one double and one super king and twin room.  There is also a sofa bed in the living area to accommodate larger families/groups.  A travel cot can also be provided on request.

Downstairs comprises of; an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area with seating for 6 people and a living area complete with a sofa and sofa bed.  Also downstairs is a spacious double bedroom next to which is a shower room with a walk-in shower, w.c and washbasin.

The fully equipped kitchen/dining area has been carefully designed with all the facilities that you would expect to find at home including a cooker with a hob, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge freezer, cooking utensils, pots, pans and iron/ironing board.

In the living area, a TV with Freeview Sky channels, Video, DVD player, Radio/CD player and a selection of books, videos and DVD’s are available for your use during your stay.  WiFi can be made available by prior arrangement.

The cottage is centrally heated with 24 hour on tap hot water. 

Towels and bed linen are provided also.  A hairdryer is also available for use.  Should any baby equipment be required, please let us know.  We have a travel cot, high chair, steam steriliser, bed guards and stair gates if required which we will provide at no extra cost.  We would ask you to bring your baby’s own bedding.

All you need to bring are your walking boots and a change of clothes!

Darwin cottage is enclosed within the courtyard of Newton House and during the summer months this is an ideal location for a BBQ.  Some garden furniture and barbeque equipment are provided for your use.

There is also the use of our large garden where you can relax and children can play.
